For Sanskrit, Hindi Geography, and Philosophy, BHU courses are preferred by the students. Banaras Hindu University and Delhi University are equivalent for the remaining subjects. For the majority of the Science stream courses, BHU is slightly ahead. BHU is ranked 6 whereas DU is placed 13 in the NIRF 2022 rankings for universities, giving BHU a clear advantage over DU in a number of areas. In comparison to DU, BHU provides a superior campus environment.

It depends in which college you are taking admission under DU, and also the course you are going to take. There are many top Indian colleges under DU in which students from all over India. Apply for admission. Also, cutoff goes very high, above 90 - 95 % for admission in DU. BHU is also good, but depends on your course.

Firstly, it depends on how much you can travel and where you live. If traveling and living is not a problem for you then Delhi University is obviously the best university as 40% of the top 100 colleges in India are from Delhi University only.
