Which one is better among mechanical engineering and electronics and telecommunication engineering?

Trends on various engineering branches scope and opportunities varies with multiple parameters such as Economic growth, Geo Politics, innovation & technology changes, shortage of skills, quality of education, changes social capital etc. Therefore, predicting trends is very difficult. Student must choose his branch based on his/her interest to excel in professional life. This decade belongs to Electronics and Telecommunications. Electronics and Telecommunications will continue to impact all walks of life including business. Next wave of Industrial revolution is automation and Electronics that play a vital role in it. ECE engineers can be employed in all type of industries including IT. ECE engineers are employed in following type of role: (a) Maintenance and operations role in electronics, telecommunication equipment manufacturing companies. (b) Maintenance and operations role in manufacturing companies. (c) Maintenance and operations role with Telecommunications service providers. (d) Testing, Quality control and supervision of the deployment of electronics and telecommunication devices. (e) Design Engineer & R&D role in Telecommunication, Analog and Digital Electronics, Networking, Embedded systems, VLSI, signal and image process etc. (f) Independent consultant after experience in field mentioned above. (g) Management of computing and network infrastructure in IT and Data centres. (h) Software development for embedded systems. (I) Indian Engineering service and other government jobs. (j) PSU. (k) Defence & Paramilitary forces. (l) DRDO & ISRO etc. R&D org. Mechanical is an ever green branch for last 50 years and will continue to remain same in next 50 years. It is a core branch of engineering. Mechanical Engineering also has specializations such Production, Aeronautical etc. Mechanical Engineers are employed in Operations and Maintenance roles in Manufacturing and Services industry. Mechanical Engineers are employed in Operations and Maintenance roles in Manufacturing and Services industry. Currently,a based on market opportunities in India ECE grads have slight edge over Mechanical grads in term of opportunities and growth.

The branch in which you have interest is better. We can't say like this, that this branch is better than that branch. It solely depends on you and your passion. If you like Electronics, Networks, Circuits and you really have passion for that, then go for ENTC. If you have passion for Machines, their Mechanisms, Designing of Machines, etc. go for Mechanical.
