Which one is better- animation or engineering?

Both the fields you mentioned are completely different. Animation take you to a way where you can design and animate your designs whereas engineering itself is a vast field that can also include animation as a side course. You should be more precise for what your skills are and accordingly choose your field. -
That completely depends on your interest and dedication towards that subject. Whether you are just taking it as other says or it's your own choice.
