Which one is better: Food and Beverage Service or House Keeping and why?

There is nothing better or worse between Food & Beverage and Housekeeping. Both the departments offer excellent career options. The F&B department requires people who are ready to give more hard work than the housekeepers. Housekeeping is a very good choice for the girl students as it is more involved into artistic presentation. There is more earning option in F&B service, but promotion opportunity in Housekeeping department is more than F&B service. Basically, it is the choice and agility of a student to choose his/ her career path. One can be excellent in one career and may be a complete misfit in the other.

The food and beverage industry contains a wide variety of jobs, including those that need little-to-no training, such as cashiers and servers, and those that need extensive training or a degree, such as head chefs or restaurant managers. Main job roles in this field are: Food and Beverage Servers Chef Food Scientist There are ample opportunities in private and public domain, like in 5/7 Star hotels and government offices like Food Inspection department. Salaries in these job roles are good average around 2-7 LPA depending on the experience. Housekeeping, on the other hand, has a career as a cleaner to manager in hotels, restaurants or private organizations assisting bigger firms. This field has wider career scope than food and beverage. Skilled professionals can be a part of a branded hotel chain or housekeeping department of top global organizations. Based on skills and experience salary is also lucrative in this field. Housekeeping managers get paid around 2-5 LPA/month in the hotel industry, 3-7 LPA as managers in IT organisations and top government offices.

Hi, Housekeeping and food and beverages services are two core departments of a hotel among major 4 departments. Choosing either of the department is completely based on the interest of the candidate. Both the departments are very crucial in terms of hotel operations. If you talk about the salary, you will get almost the same salary at the same level in both the departments though the salary may differ from organisation to organisation. Giving you a brief about food and beverage service: It is the department where FnB service staff serves the food and beverage to the guests in a restaurant. The different subsections of this department are Banquets, meeting rooms, in-room dining, bars, restaurants and lounges. On the other hand, housekeeping department takes care of all the cleaning and decoration of the hotel, to maintain the ambience and aesthetic of the hotel, housekeeping department is responsible. This department also has sections like public area (lobby, restaurants, and back of the house) guest rooms and floor, laundry, linen room, and florist. Choosing either of two departments depends completely on one's interest and passion.

Hi, Food and Beverage Service and Housekeeping are two different departments and you should choose according to your area of interest. As both the departments play a crucial role in successful hotel operations, there is no much difference in the salary offered to the employees at similar levels in the hierarchy. Food and Beverage Service (F&B) is concerned with service of food to the guest. There are several departments that come under Food and Beverage Service department and these are: Restaurants Banquets Room Service Lounge/ Bar And F&B director in a 5 Star hotel looks after successful operations of all these departments. The housekeeping department is concerned basically with keeping the hotel clean. Which includes guest rooms, public area, in-house area, etc. There are several departments that come under housekeeping, These are: Guest Rooms Laundry Public area cleaning ( Lobby, Banquet, Restaurant, corridor, etc.) Florist The executive housekeeper is responsible for all these departments in a 5 Star hotel. Both are the courses under hospitality and it needs cool-minded people for doing these jobs. This field has a lot of job opportunities and high paid salary in big hotels and restaurant. In housekeeping, one can take care of the room, hotels, interior of halls, cleaning, cooking, shopping, maintenance and other domestic stuff. In food and beverage service, one can take care of services such as catering, serving, beverage maintaining. A student learns about food preparation and presentation, food and beverage Service is quite better than the job of housekeeping as here less training is needed because training is quite boring. Food and beverage service student can earn more and have more chances to get a job in big hotel and company. After doing this course, one can get a job of food and beverage maintenance, chef, waiter, bartender and many other. Generally, food and beverage service earn a yearly salary or more than 5 lakh per annum which is better than that of housekeeping.
