Which one is better: going for lateral B.Tech after Diploma or studying for one more year for the entrance?

Which college you are seeking admission in? If it is a particular college you want, then prepare a year and take admission in first year. It will take 5 years this way. If you do Diploma and take lateral entry in B.Tech, then that should take 6 years. So, if you want to save time choose B.Tech only.

Studying one more year for entrance and getting a much better college for further studies.
