    The field of visual communication focuses on delivering content and messages to an audience with visual media. In both, visual communication and VFX programs, students are taught concepts such as illustration, graphic design, photography and airbrushing. This equips students with the skills they need to succeed in the industry.

    I am explaining about both the field. You can make out the difference all by yourself.
    A multi-disciplinary curriculum:
    Though viscom, strictly speaking, involves study towards being commercial, art or graphic designers, the curriculum in most colleges have a wider scope and encompass several media-related subjects.     The visual communication field is focused on communicating with clients and customers through any visual means available. You will learn graphic design, illustration, animation, photography, and even the modification, or airbrushing, of photographs to better illustrate a given point. These skills are considered broad and comprehensive, and they prepare graduates to enter a number of exciting fields within the communications industry.
