Both the streams have their own scope and it depends on your interest that which stream you choose. But, I will suggest you B.Sc biotechnology because it has more scope than microbiology. Microbiology is a part of biotechnology only. So, you should opt for B.Sc biotechnology.

    Hello,
It completely depends upon you that you want to go for biotechnology or microbiology.
According to me, you can go for biotechnology because there is one advantage, if you choose microbiology then your field will be limited and in biotechnology you field will be very big. If you want to make your career in biotechnology you can do Masters thorough the reputed college called IITs by giving one entrance exam called IIT JAM (To know the complete detail about the JAM you can visit: https://www.eduncle.com/iit-jam-exam).
JAM aspirants can either opt for M.Sc. or PhD or M.Sc. plus PhD Dual degree professional courses offered by the IIT

Being microbiology a part of Biotechnology only, reference from my side favours Biotechnology. However, it mostly depends on you only whether you want to specialize in Microbiology only.
Biotechnology, in it, includes not only microbiology but also, molecular biology, genetic engineering, and cell culture as well.
Keeping in mind that which subject you would like to specialize in, you can choose the subject. I hope my answer help you in any way.

It's up to you what you want to pursue. If you are planning for higher education it does not really matter. You have to go through every aspect of life sciences.

Both are very good fields of biology.
But, if you want an immediate and assured job than chose microbiology because after B.Sc. you can do 1 year certificate course in MLT and join any laboratory. Also, you can do Diploma in MLT, with this you may be able to get limited lab license.
If you are a technical person in biology than B.Sc. biotechnology is best.
