Which one is more beneficial among software engineering and hardware engineering?

Currently Computer Software Engineering has wider scope in comparison to Computer Hardware engineering. However with changes & improvements in remote IT Infrastructure Management Technology Indian IT companies are having a good share in IT Infrastructure outsourcing business. Currently rate of growth in Infrastructure outsourcing is higher in comparison to Software outsourcing. Industry prefers Electronics Engineers over CSE graduates for Hardware roles. Engineers who have both hardware and software skills will be better placed in near future because these engineers will able to provide end to end solutions to customers business problems.

I recommend software engineering more than hardware.

The hardware industry is massive and ever-changing. It also has a specific focus. Solutions tailored specifically to a client's needs are in high demand. The ability to demonstrate mastery in a certain field is essential. Even with a strong intellectual background, getting a piece of hardware to perform as intended sometimes requires extensive hacking and trial and error. You can't just Google a broken piece of hardware as you can a broken piece of code. There is a high degree of specialisation and exclusivity in the hardware industry. Hacking (or bashing one's head against a wall!). Would be required to make most broken equipment functional. Now let's contrast this with the field of software development. A few months of study on a language like Python may turn a software newbie into a useful member of the team. There are a lot of standard requirements in the software industry. It's easy to SEE how many small companies now want their own online presence by counting the number of requests for public websites and online storefronts. The various software systems are compatible. In the realm of physical objects, this fails miserably. However, software is always developing and expanding. A well-designed structure should anticipate and account for anticipated needs from the get-go. Software with a bad design has a shorter lifespan and more bugs. This is where the Science and expertise of software engineers come into play.
