Which one should I opt for engineering- Computer Science or Information Technology?

    B.Tech in CSE and B.Tech IT degrees are equally good with 80% similar syllabus. CSE graduates have better systems concepts in comparison to IT graduates. CSE graduates have a minor edge over IT graduates. CSE graduates get both Apps and System development job whereas IT graduates like MCA graduates are preferred for Apps development roles. Indian IT industry give only Apps development job to IT graduates. B.Tech CSE graduates may also get better placement and little better CTC in comparison to IT graduates if they are from reputed Engineering colleges like IIT or NITs etc.

    Hello,
    Computer science engineering, equally covers both hardware and software aspects. Information technology engineering and software engineering has a lesser focus on the hardware aspect. However, this difference hardly matters as universities frequently keep updating the syllabus for each branch.
    Unless and until, you get a job in a hardware manufacturing company like Intel, Logitech, etc. this little difference in the syllabus hardly matters.
