Which one should I prefer: a low ranking NIT or a top private college and why?

Some of the top private universities such as BITS Pilani, VIT, Shiva Nadar University etc have better facilities and faculty in comparison to low ranking NITs. Even their placement record is better. Therefore, for better placement and career growth, it is recommended that you may opt for a top private university over low ranking NITs for doing B.Tech.

So let's take a look at the available options.
To be honest, I would say go for top private universities over lower-ranking NITs. But how low the rank can be.
I would suggest NITs as around 5th or 6th rank can be considered safe over the private universities.
But below this rank give preference to private universities.
Consider one more practical options. I would suggest after top 5 NITs, go for top government colleges in your state. This college would generally be better than private universities.

There is a big discussion on such topics. My personal experience is that it's better to choose the top private colleges rather than low NITs because the trend is changing. Students from top private institutes like BITS, LMNIT, NIRMA etc. are making the history in each field. It is better to opt for private colleges with best facilities, academics.

Firstly assume that you prefer branch over the college. If you are getting good branches in both low ranking NIT and top private colleges then I would prefer you to take admission in low ranking NIT and if you are getting a good branch in top private college and a bad branch in low ranking NIT well I would like you to prefer good branch in top private college because college doesn't matter all that matter is that you like or you want the branch that you prefer.
