It depends which IIIT/NIT you are getting according to your rank. In terms of placement, faculties and infrastructure some IIITs are far better than many NITs. Also coding culture of IIITs are far better than many NITs.
If you are interested in CSE/IT then IIIT-H is the best option for you. IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Delhi are far better than NITs in terms of coding culture, average package and infrastructure.
You should prefer joining IIIT Ranchi because it is situated in the campus of NIT Jamshedpur which is among one of the best NITs in the country in terms of placement, coding culture and infrastructure also.
    If you are not

Institutes of national importance. Previously, All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) was the mode of getting admission in NITs, while IIT-JEE was the mode to get admission in IITs, but now both these entrance exams are replaced by a common exam called as JEE (Joint Entrance Examination). When it comes to the quality of education provided IITs are ahead of the NITs. The professors in the IITs are better and more qualified than the NITs. The way of education and approach is also better in IIT, but it doesn't mean that NITs are not good. There have been founder of companies in India and abroad from both IITs and NITs and they

    Hello,
I am providing with the detailed comparison based on the basic and important parameters for engineering.
To study in the right engineering institution, one needs to consider various factors of the institutions and view comparisons from different perspectives of the students. Below are few points that should be taken care about while making the selection.

As per the companies perception, the package offered is equivalent and all recruiters are equivocal to say that both of the IITs and NITs are esteemed high-quality institution and at par.
The only comparison comes when the newer IITs and NITs have seen moderate emerging placements.
Hence, no conclusive evidence can prove which is better.
My personal advice would be to stick with both but only older and established ones like IIT Guwahati, Madras, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Kharagpur, Indore.
With NITs you can go with Surathkal, Rourkela, Tiruchirapalli.
Even for M.Tech, placements at above colleges are near 100% and all of them have demonst

I will give you the answer by comparing the colleges of IIITs and NITs:
IIIT (Indian Institute of Information Technology):
The IIITs are of two types:
Set-up, Funded and Managed by Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Setup on Public Private Partnership (PPP), funded by Central Government, State Governments and Industry Partners in the ratio 50:35:15.
The type 'a' college includes 4 colleges. These are also Institute of National Importance. These are somewhat old and well established.
The type 'b' includes 20 colleges. The industry partners play a vital role in determining their syllabus and curriculum, which is advantage for them. As per

NITs and IIITs both take the admissions through JEE Mains ranks basis and are attractions for graduates and preferred by a completely different set domains per say.
NITs were mostly regional engineering colleges that were renamed as NITs. There are 31 NITs funded by Govt itself. NITs almost give graduate programs in all domains. NITs provide all branches as mechanical, electrical, civil, electrical, chemical etc.
IIITs were opened as a base for Information Technologies. There are total 23 IIITs out of which 5 are established and funded by MHRD. The remaining are set up as the Public-private partnership. Out of these 5 IIITs funded by M
