Which one should I prefer for a PGPM program: Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore or Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow and why?

7 years agoIndian Institute of Management Bangalore is the 2nd best business school in the country while Indian Institute of Management Lucknow is considered as the best B-School after IIM A/B/C.
Location wise Bangalore is far better than Lucknow.The campus of IIM, Lucknow is around 20 Kms from the Lucknow central railway station.You will hardly find any taxi late night.
If you compare fee, then IIM, Lucknow will have the upper hand but the return on investment is better in IIM, Bangalore.
Placement is very good in both the institute but again due to location and better brand value IIM, Bangalore will beat IIM, Lucknow in terms of placement.

The evaluation can be done on the following factors:
1) Brand: As common knowledge, the brand of IIM-B is better than for IIM, Lucknow which can be attributed to the location as Bangalore and the age of IIM.
2) Faculty: IIMs have a high standards of faculty and the professors do rotate between IIMs so both institutes fare well. But again the brand and location drives better quality of faculty to IIM-B. The academic rigor is higher in IIM, Lucknow.
