Actually, CSE is the core field and IT was introduced later. The course is similar to a great extent except some hardware subjects are introduced in CSE in the final year of your college. CSE prepares you as a developer while IT as an app developer. I think the companies gives equal opportunities to

I think, CSE is good as compared to IT and job opportunities are also high and are in demand as compared to IT branch students.

I will prefer you to opt for the CS branch, as in this branch you will learn more things then the IT branch.

Since the teaching module and syllabus is nearly same for both the courses. The slight difference is that CSE is a core engineering branch whereas IT has emerged later. If you want to do software development then you can opt for CSE branch.
