Which should I choose among Ubuntu and Windows? I'm conquering IT engineering (degree). I need a laptop for the practice of languages.

Firstly, you should check which OS is being used in your college because it's better to stick with the technology that is being used in your college. Your college might provide you with some Rides which should be compatible with your OS. So, my suggestion is that you should wait and confirm the OS of your college and then load the same in your PC. -
Ubuntu is the safest option and is reliable than Windows, you just need to get used to it.
Windows, on the other hand, is most widely used system and but comes with its own set of bugs that you can't get rid of.
