Hello Naveen, I am assuming you to be of general category. From my point of you should apply in both counselling. You can get a good NIT, so apply in this first. In government colleges infrastructure and lifestyle is not so good as compared to private colleges but at the end all of us want a good package which is likely to be in a government college. If you are not getting a good NIT and good branch then go for VIT. To prepare for JEE Advanced.
    All the best.

I would suggest you prefer VIT over other NIT's due to the excellent curriculum and facilities. I hope this helps.

Then, I prefer you to join in VIT campus, as you can get a CS seat when you try from management side. And, even VIT is ranked no 1. private institute 4th time in a row by Indian Government.

Apply for both. If you are interested in CS then stick to it. If you are getting this branch in a good NIT, then it's fine. But, if you are not getting it then go to VIT. In the end, package will be more or less same in any of these as far as CS is concerned. It is just your 'interest' that matters.
I hope this helps. All the Best.
