Which specialisation is better in PGDM?

Being an educator I would go to extent of saying that knowledge and education in all spheres of human activity are good and have their own importance for different people as per their passions. PGDM / MBA are essentially management programs curated all over the world with different specializations, different outcomes and for different industries / functions. Lets first check what kind of specializations are there and how to chose anyone out of them. PGDM / MBA comes in various types and flavors, each has its own standing and importance in professional market. Broadly there are three kinds of MBA programs: General MBA programme or a bit higher end MBA Hons programme. Function specific programs: Marketing, Human resources, Finance, operations, International business, Business Analytics, IT etc. Industry specific programs: Financial Markets, Banking, Insurance, Retail, Hospitality, Health care, Media management, Oil & gas management etc. But there are quite a few important points before I move further into discussion like: Your interests, aptitude, bent of mind, personality type, analytical ability, hobbies and aspirations need to be just right fit for any Masters in Management programme. Before choosing any of the specialisation, you must take utmost care that your own traits are matching the specialisation you want to do plus diligent research on the programme outcomes too. Few good B-Schools that I suggest in India are : Old Iims, FMs Delhi, SIBM, ISB, MDI, XLRI/XIM, SP Jain, LPU Punjab, IBS Hyderabad, LBSIM, IIFT Great lakes Chennai, and many IITs in no particular order, Although not all of them may be best in every specialisation you have to make a informed choice. One very important point I would like to make: The management programs cost very high from top B-Schools, and in this distressed economy, chose one which is value for money and your chances of scholarships are there.

Dear Somesh, Before getting admission into MBA course, often a candidate comes across a choice to pick one MBA specialisations that would serve as the foundation for his/her career growth. There are several specialisations which being offered by the B-schools in India and globally. However, the decision is yours to pick and choose one MBA specialisations among many at the end of the day! Among all the top specialisations that are high in demand, MBA in finance and MBA in HR are two specialisations that are quite financially rewarding for the MBA aspirants. Making a decision to choose one between the two requires great deal of time and thought. Business Schools are known to bridge the gap from being a normal individual to being a good professional. Every student aspires to get a degree from the best B-schools. And in India, there are also many colleges that can help in bridging the gap of transforming the students into professionals. I did MBA from LPU and LPU is helping me grow professionally and personally with its career-oriented programs and support. I would say, The Business School of LPU is accredited from (ACBSP) Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs from the USA ensuring quality education and industry experienced faculty members, studying in LPU will get a degree accredited from a body of USA. LPU has recently Marked among Top 50 Best Management Institutes by NIRF ranking 2020. Also, LPU has won National Employability Award 2020. Most of faculty members are from IIM or from elite B- Schools (India/Abroad. They have decade of experience. Faculty was really helping. Even they helped her after regular university hours for her projects. Entrepreneurship projects are integral part of curriculum and help establish themselves as successful entrepreneurs. I got opportunity to work on community development project on social issues to cultivate social sensitivity and sense of responsibility. University has collaboration/Tie up with the companies like NSE, Safe Educate, ICICI Direct, HDFC, etc. To give students the opportunity for pursuing live projects and/or professional certifications like NCCMP, NCFM etc. The placements are exemplary. Im a pass-out myself and Im placed in a decent company, while some of my friends are placed abroad, too. Industrial exposure is offered through in-house training programs. The university organizes many external workshops for us.
