    Swarnajit,
Both the branches are equally good. If you love toying with machines, then definitely mechanical is for you. But if structures enamor you, you love creating and renovating them then Civil is your calling.
Now the most important thing is the university/ college that you choose for your degree. These days we have many good government IITs, NITs, etc. as well as private universities like LPU, SRM, etc. offering admissions in these engineering branches. Some of them offer admission just on the basis of tests like JEE and some offer you direct admission on the basis of your marks in previous qualifying exam or on basis of JEE/ thei

It depends on whether you are interested in building structures or some gear type things. Usually mechanical jobs are high paid and have more opportunities. Mechanical students can be versatile in all other branch courses because of their teaching curriculum.
  • Mechanical engineering is obviously better than civil engineering. Mechanical engineering has a good scope but civil engineering is not having that much when compared to mechanical. So, you can opt for mechanical engineering but study in a good college. If it is a top one then it is much better.
