Which stream is better among mechanical or civil?

Dear Roushan, it totally depends on your interest as to what you want to pursue. Both ae good fields and I can give you a brief overview of both courses offered at LPU. After doing a course in civil engineering you can become: Construction manager. Geotechnical engineer. Environmental engineer. Public Health engineer. Transportation engineer. Urban planning engineer. One needs aggregate 60 percent with PCM in class 12. Civil engineering primarily targets a field whereas Mechanical engineering can be further divided into a variety of fields. This makes it a better choice for the students who are looking for higher studies in the desired direction. I would recommend B.Tech Mechanical from LPU, I am sharing my friend review regarding this course, His experience at LPU was amazing, Currently he is working with XL Dynamics with decent package. As a general rule for placements, a lot more will depend upon your own hard work, communication & presentation skills and overall preparation. This would be true for any university you enroll in. Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in our students in addition to giving them international exposure. University organized International Go kart Championship which is a student initiated automotive event the first international event of its kind receiving participation from all over ASIA. School of Mechanical Engineering organized an International Conference on Recent Advances in Mechanical Engineering (ICRAME), in which experts from leading brands like Maruti Suzuki, Biomimicry India were present. University give you a very good amount of training before you go into campus placements. Try not to miss those classes they will help you in getting better placements, after all, all we need is a decent place with good exposure. I shouldn't even have to explain this one. Mechanical Engineering students at LPU are provided with enormous opportunities of placement drives. I can SEE my few friends getting placed in reputed companies like Hyundai, Reliance Energy, Godrej, Sandhar Technology, XL Dynamics and many more. Even IT industries recruit Mechanical students here. Companies like Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, etc. Are prominent recruiters here.

The definition of better varies from person to person and is influenced by personal inclinations and ones strength for e.g. some people might to go with regular stream like CS, mechanical, Electronics and some might go with not so common branches like Robotics, petroleum, mining. Opt for the engineering branch that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyze the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission. You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of Aptitude, personality and career interest to clear confusion.
