Computer science and mechanical have equal status. Both are highly recognized and offer high package. But, choosing your career is very important decision of your life, so I recommend you to go to your class 11th and 12th grade and analyze your past studies.
If you are good at mathematics, but not good at physics, then I recommend you to go for computer science. If you are good at both these subjects and much more interested in mechanical part of physics, then go for mechanical.

    Hi,
    How are you?
Well, each and every branch in engineering is good, we can't compare them. Just there are a few differences like mechanical, electrical and civil are evergreen branches but CS, IT and EC have high placement records.
Other than this, you may also take chemical, metallurgy, mechatronics, etc.
    So, choose a suitable branch.
    Go for it.
    Thank you and keep asking!

It depends on you and your interest. If you like machines go for mechanical or else opt CS. Mechanical is an evergreen branch and CS is also very good. You can expect much more package with good placement in it as compared to mechanical. Now it depends on you so go with your interest.
    All the best.

Both of these branches are good at their own places.
But if you choose Computer Science then your spectrum to excel in others fields narrows down.
But if you choose Mechanical Engineering then you would have a broad spectrum of opportunities.
That too Mechanical Engineering is an ever green field and there no lack of jobs at all.
I would personally suggest you to choose Mechanical Engineering.
This field is really exuberant and you can enjoy the subjects which are related to real world applications.
