You should choose the branch that interests you. If your interest is in CSE then you shall go for B.Tech in CSE.

    Hi Shweta,
To be honest, there are numerous good branches. It has been an hype that computer science is the best branch but there are oodles of students who earn much higher than those working in CS. India is facing a huge bloom in Aerospace and Aviation. and even robotics and mechanics are spreading widely with the collaboration of mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence.

If you are not interested any field like as mechanical, computer, civil, electronic or electrical then do not choose engineering field. Engineering field is very competitive nowadays.

No stream is the best or the worst. It's how you do it. You do well in any field and you'll get the best offers that domain has to offer. All the best.

As you know, computer science is a vast field. Today is the era digitalization. CS has jobs but lots of competition too and if you are willing for government jobs, then go for core branches like civil, mechanical, electronics, etc. Because CS has less opportunities for government jobs.

In IITs, mostly CSE is good. It gives you quick placements. But my suggestion is that all branches in IIT have equal importance. If u want opportunities then try for core branches. Else CSE. But for all this, the JEE Advanced rank must be in the 100-5000 range. You should also understand its capacity too. Check out the syllabus of all the branches and job opportunities in IITs and choose the right one. All the best.
