PCMB is what you need to pursue Biotechnology as it diversifies later into biochemistry, bio informatics, biomedical etc. Few universities do offer b.tech in biotech with biology but maths is required.

I am myself pursuing B.Tech in buotechnology. You can either take PCB or PCM in 12th grade and admission into colleges depends on their elligibilities. for pursuing it from IIT's or NIT's you have to clear JEE, so PCM is must. As a optional subject you can opt for biology or biotechnology, which will give you an idea. how the field would be in B.Tech and near future and help you decide whether to pursue B.Tech in this or not. It will also help you afterwards in your studies of engineering.
