    Hello Jaya,
    UGC NET is the national level which is conducted to examine the eligibility of candidates required for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at India's reputed universities. You can take UGC NET exam in the subject in which you have done post graduation. As you have done your Masters' in Zoology, I suggest you that apply for CSIR NET not for UGC NET. CSIR NET Exam is conducted for Science stream students by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.     UGC NET is the eligibility test conducted for Higher Education. One who passes this test is the one who is eligible to apply for College Lecturer jobs. UGC NET exam can be given in the subject which is the Lost Graduation subject of the person. If you have done M.A. in English, you will give English Subject UGC NET.
