Which subject do I need to focus to become an lAS officer?

Hi Himanshu! The Civil Services Examination (IAS) is considered as one of the toughest and the most prestigious examinations conducted in India. The syllabus is widely extensive and you need to focus on all the subjects equally. The written exam consists of 2 sections; prelims and Mains. Prelim is an objective question exam containing questions related to general awareness and personal aptitude. The Mains examination consists of subjective questions and covers the following subjects: 1. Current events of national and international importance. 2. History of India and Indian National Movement. 3. Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World. 4. Indian Polity and Governance Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. 5. Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc. 6. General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change that do not require subject specialisation. 7. General Science.
