    Syllabus of BLS has following subjects: (a) Foundations of Library & Information Science (b) Management of Libraries (c) Knowledge organisation and Information Retrieval Information Sources (e) Information Users, Systems and Services (f) Library & Information Technology (g) Library Cataloguing Theory (h) Library Classification.

Very rarely this degree course is offered after 10+2. It is specialised Professional degree courses of one year duration offered to graduates of all streams.     Bachelor of Library Science (B.Lib.Sc.) is a professional postgraduate degree program. The B.Lib.Sc degree is provided after the completion of a one-year course. The program includes the standards and performances of Library Science. It also covers Library Administration with present technologies. B.Lib.Sc covers the cataloguing and classification, database management, reference, etc. There are some other topics like information architecture, research methods, collection management, statistics and IT.
    Bachelor of Library Science program encompasses of the disciplines like IT, management, academics and other fields to upkeep libraries.

    The subjects that are taught in B.Lib.Sc are mentioned below:
    Semester-I
    1. Library and Information Society
    2. Knowledge Organisation, Information Processing and Retrieval
    3. Information Sources (Theory and Practice)
    4. Library Classification and Cataloguing Practice and A
    Semester-II
    1. Management of Libraries and Information Centers
    2. Users and Information Services (Theory and Practice)
    3. Information Technology Basics (Theory and Practice)
    4. Library Classification and Cataloguing Practice and B
    The curriculum is almost the same since a lot of years. There are no major changes done in the same.
