Hello, Philosophy is the ability of the mind to put things in perspective. It's the ability to differentiate between nuances of similar thoughts. It's about ethics, it's about logic. It's a very interesting and fascinating subject. The subjects that are taught at graduation level are Indian Philosophy, Western Philosophy, Ethics, Logical reasoning, Problems in Philosophy, Philosophy of religion, etc. The names may change from university to university but contents are similar. The aim of all these subjects is to give a solid grounding to the student to enable him to be perfect in ethics, logic and logical analysis. This is one subject that has seen a great evolution in course contents. Advancements in neurology, various developments in thought processes have forced the authorities to keep on evolving the course content. Maybe because of this, it's one course that is nearer to modern times.
