Professionals in this field are concerned with enhancing grain and seed nutrition as well as increasing the amount and quality of food. They also work to improve crop and soil conditions in the cost effective and environmentally sound ways. The list of courses in crop science are: Degrees in agronomy and crop science range from an associate degree to a Doctor of Philosophy and certificate programs are also available. Agronomy and crop science programs emphasize biology and chemistry as well as math and statistics. Major coursework includes soil chemistry, genetics, entomology, plant physiology, plant breeding and soil fertility.
