Microbiology is a specialisation. The students who have completed their Bachelor in microbiology or biotechnology are elite opt for Masters in microbiology as they are trained in the basics and the laboratory skills and techniques.

There are some institutions providing microbiology at graduation level while others provide at Masters level. Either way you will benefit if you had zoology and microbiology in graduation.
