Which subjects should I take in class 11th to become an IAS Officer after it?

Hi, You can pursue for IAS by opting any subject in 11 like science commerce arts or humanities, etc. but in my recommendations you should opt for arts/humanities in your 11th. Arts is a very good stream. Most of the times it is seen as the stream for students who are weak in studies but this is just as much a misconception as black CAT brings bad luck. Most of the IAS and IPS are from the arts background. This stream is favourite for aspirants who want to get into administration or associate themselves with some unconventional fields like becoming a historian or psychologist, etc. The subjects offered for arts or humanities field are: Compulsory subjects: history, geography, political science and English.

If you are sure about your choice you may go with arts as it gives more time for IAS preparations. If you go with Science and the graduation from engineering or any graduation you will land up with a safe and strong backup as well.
