You can ask him to opt pure science subject i.e. physics and mathematics In India if you want to pursue career in aerospace engineering, you can do it from IITs (B.Tech) and one should have minimum 65% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to appear for IIT entrance exam IIT- JEE

Please let your son continue with the same syllabus. It's mush better than CBSE syllabus if he wants to get into his desired field.
