<p>The department engages in a number of initiatives to encourage participation of faculty and students in research and advanced training programs, including Faculty Development Programs, Seminars, and Workshops.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The department runs programs for the advancement of its faculty. The department held national seminars on topics like rainwater harvesting, water conservation, alternative building materials, reliability of structures, and technologies for sustainable development. Additionally, other seminars and workshops are occasionally held.</p><ul><li><p>National level technical fest "Concrete fair" will be organised by the department with over 900 registered participants from institutions all over the country every year.</p></li><li><p>Engineer's day is celebrated every year in the Department of Civil Engineering, on 15th September at Sir M. V.
