Which test can help me to get MS in Germany or UK? What would be the approximate cost of completion of MS after getting scholarship?

I have recently completed 3rd year of B.Tech in chemical engineering and looking for admission in MS in Germany or UK. Which test can help me to get some scholarship? Which field and country would be better for me? What score of GRE or IELTS or TOEFL will be good?

Hi , typically universities in Germany and UK do not require additional tests such as GRE. However, yes do require TOEFL or IELTS from international students. Scholarships are given on merit basis and only a test score cannot define it. If you take GRE aim for a score of nothing less than 315 and IELTS scores above 7. Which field would be good for you is one thing you will know, you must decide what to study and then check for requirements. Are you planning to stick to chemical engineering or trying to shift to management?

The best field after BSc Biotechnology depends on your interests and aspirations. However, top areas include Pharmaceuticals (drug discovery, QA/QC), Clinical Research ( CRA, data management), Bioinformatics, Agricultural Biotech and Environmental Biotech. Students aiming for specialised roles go for a master's degree like M.Sc, M.Tech or MBA in biotechnology or a similar field or the one that adds value to their resume.

No, studying on a Graduate Visa in UK is generally not possible. Students can do so only if their chosen course is not eligible for a student visa in the UK. If you choose a course that is eligible for a student visa then you can apply for the extension of your UK student visa instead. The courses allowed on a Grdauate visa may include professional, recreational or online courses like short courses or skills development that are not covered by a full Student visa.

Since applicants need to pay for a minimum of three years when applying for a Skilled Worker Visa in the UK, applicants with a job offer with lesser in length than that keep looking for a UK work visa that's valid for only 2 years.

For that reason, one can apply for a "India Young Professionals Scheme visa". This visa allows Indians from 18 to 30 years old to work in the UK for 2 years. The only conditions for getting this visa include-

  • you must have a minimum saving of £2,530
  • you must get selected in the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot
