    Language Proficiency: Candidates should have verbal and written proficiency in official language of the State/UT. The candidate should be able to read, write and speak the language.

    Hello, IBPS Clerk exam conducts LPT I. e. Language Proficiency Test after a candidate clears both prelims and Mains examination. So, yes regional language is important for the IBPS Clerk exam.
