There are few government universities that have ICAR approval but if I talk about private then LPU comes to my mind. LPU is the first private university in India that got ICAR approval. (I). There are few government universities that have the approval of ICAR for B.Sc. Agri programme. But I will always suggest LPU for the Agriculture programme. LPU have 1200+ acres of Agriculture land for the students of Agriculture to perform experiments in practical life. B.Sc (Hons. ) Agriculture is accredited to ICAR by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, an autonomous body responsible for coordinating agricultural education and research in India. It reports to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture. Admission in any programme depends on qualifying the Eligibility criteria for that programme. Eligibility for B.Sc in Agriculture is to get Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent. There are ample opportunities in this field both in the Government and in the Private sector. Getting a good job depends on various factors like from where you have done your Graduation, your skills, your knowledge about the field, the Industrial experience and exposure if you have any. LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (government. of India). LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation.
