Dear Sameeksha, I don't know whether M.Sc. Economics is offered at Chandigarh University or Amity University but being alumni of LPU, I can assure you that LPU offers M.Sc. In Economics. My friend has taken admission this year in this programme, There are key points that are worth to be highlighted:
1. Capable of opening new opportunities especially for the students who wish to pursue a higher degree in the field of economics as it includes the subjects of economics starting from basics to the advanced one including the course on econometrics which is high in demand.
2. Education is imparted under semester system and or improved learning, emphasis is laid on Seminars and Case-Based Teaching.
3. Nowadays, the knowledge of statistical tools and their applicability is highly required by big industries. This demand is fully kept in the mind when curriculum for the programme is designed. LPU provides the students with the following options:
a. Core and Elective Courses
b. Language and Communication Skills
c. Open Minors
d. Workshops and Seminar Courses
4. Finally, Pathways are also floated, which actually assist the student to achieve his/her dream. Three pathways such as Corporate Jobs, Government Jobs, and Higher Studies are offered to the student in the fourth term. More emphasis and hands-on training through workshops on SPSS, Data Analysis, Excel Modelling, Computer Applications, etc.
5. LPU provides International Exposure and Credit Transfer option to the interested students to opt for the semester, year, or summer school in the countries like Canada, England, Australia, and many more.
6. Companies such as Truelancer, Planetspark, WNS, Bank of Hodlers, and many more have visited LPU to recruit the students at the package of 4 Lacks P. A

The Master of Economics is a postgraduate master's degree in economics comprising training in economic theory, econometrics, and/or applied economics. Let me just share the eligibility criteria in LPU alongwith the course highlights. The eligibility criteria includes 50% in Graduation (Any stream). Hence, you can pursue this course. The course highlights include :-
Education is imparted under semester system for improved learning. Emphasis on Workshops, Seminars, and Case Based Teaching. Application-oriented assignments and examination system. The students are encouraged to undertake assignments/project work from the industry and work on finding possible solutions to integrate their theoretical knowledge with industrial practices. Application oriented assignments and projects based upon databases like CAPITALINE, online library database PROQUEST and JSTOR are undertaken to sharpen research and analytical skills. In addition to the regular course work, specially designed workshop courses like Workshop on data analysis using statistical software are offered to M.Sc. (Hons. ). Economics students to promote practical implication of various courses which train students for research and other fields. Active participation of students in various clubs like Markophiles, Finance, Odisha Club, Operations & IT, Strategy, Commerce, Economics, Society for Management Learning (Student organisation), etc. Is encouraged to expose them to broader competitions.
