Which university should I choose for hotel management among SRM and LPU? Which campus of SRM is best for hotel management?

I am alumni of Lovely Professional University and I have few friends who has completed BHMT from same University, So I have idea about this course. One of my friend told me that LPU School of Hotel Management and Tourism is among India's best Hotel Management and Tourism colleges that grooms students through industry endorsed curriculum and intensive service oriented practicals with industry exposure in excellent infrastructure. The school provides students with simulation labs, aviation labs, restaurant training labs, basic and advanced training kitchen labs that expose the students to real-life situations and environment. Apart from semester long industry internships, students also visit landmark tourist destinations and hotels to relate theory with industry practices. She also told me the School is conducting various workshops through which students are learning the live technical skills through tactical experiences. Students are achieving their targets of coming out with mind boggling ideas which showcased on the table essentials. They have celebrated World Tourism Day with the aim to provide a platform for the students to perform and compete with the participants from all schools of LPU, which will help them to develop new skills and do their best to promote the Hospitality and Tourism industry. She said, Students of LPU School of Hotel Management and Tourism created the longest salad bar measuring 311.2 metres, made up of 7 different types of vegetables and weighing 1259 Kg. The FEAT was on display at Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis. LPU School of Hotel Management organized a Mocktail Competition to let the students create some new thirst quenchers. Students created artful concoctions, and presented with great verve and flair. They have separate dept which looks after placement opportunities and also for prepares students for placements by giving them proper training. -Some of the best brands like Ritz Carlton Florida (USA), Hyatt Regency Miami (USA) have selected our students with packages upto Rs 25 Lacs. There are more than 200 programmes to choose and with a great infrastructure LPU provides all the facilities within the campus itself. LPU has earned many affiliations, recognition's and accreditation's down the lane and mark itself amongst the few of the top private universities. Even the placement opportunities in LPU are much better than other private universities as it is ranked the 5th amongst the other universities for its placement records. If you are seeking admission in a college for B.Sc in hotel management, then I would like to suggest SRM, as the first preference. It is the best option in every context, whether it is the environment, placement, fest, exposure or anything else. LPU is also a good college, but if we compare it with SRM, then SRM is better. Now, it is up to you. Good Luck.

Dear Ejaz, LPU and SRM are good universities but LPU is far good for hotel management. Let me share few points about the Hotel Management programme at LPU : Curriculum: High academic standards are maintained by offering the curriculum framed in consultation with industry experts. Student exposure: Being a part of a resource-rich University, the students have an advantage of interdisciplinary exposure which is not possible in standalone colleges. University-Hotel: The School also trains its students in the campus hotel named UniHotel of 25 rooms hosting national and international guests where students practice along with the staff. Infrastructure: The School has five modern kitchens with two bakeries. All kitchen and bakery are equipped to enable a student to perform scientifically and to attain their best of learning through most modern gazettes. We have few training restaurants to teach a student about the authentic serving style of food and beverage. We are equipped with one front office laboratory, two housekeeping laboratories, two computer laboratories with 60 computers, and a simulation laboratory for aviation. Hi, Professionals with hospitality experience are still in demand in the hospitality industry. 5-star hotels, aviation, retail, shopping centers, culinary arts, cruise liners, concierge, restaurants, and other businesses usually take these. For middle management and leadership positions, starting salaries for hotel managers are in the region of INR 30,000 to 40,000 depending on the location and size of the hotel. In India, general managers earn, on average, 85,000 with a range of 50,000 to 2,00,000 or more for the largest, most prestigious hotels. LPU is one of the best options for Hotel management as it has the Best facilities, infrastructure, and equipment. The most significant point is LPU has its HOTEL within the campus for prolonged practical exposure. LPU makes sure that before you pass the degree, you have done ample internships/projects in the industry that you don't find it challenging to adapt to highly demanding jobs later on. I don't believe in comparisons as every organisation is putting its best. Can't comment on the academics and other related prospects of SRM but on the basis of the feedback received from Alumnus of LPU, I can say that LPU is a good option for hotel management course. I personally believe that the quality of education and placements of the university are the key parameters for any organisation. To provide best, LPU provide the working environment at its place as LPU has its own HOTEL within the campus which gives prolonged practical exposure. The teaching pedagogy is highly practical. The course is meant for students looking for demanding positions in hospitality sector.
