M.Tech will be better option because it will keep your career goal focussed in one direction only and you will be getting a job and growth in same engineering field and also it will add to your B.tech degree qualification. MBA on other side will change your field of career options and you may or may not get a engineering job. It depends on you area of interest whether Engineering career suits you or management career. From my view you should go for M.Tech and final decision is all yours and do not take it as I am forcing you.

    Hi,
(MBA) and Master of technology (M.Tech) programs, both qualifications offer good placements and a stable career, the decision should be a well-calculated one.
While an MBA prepares you for generalist roles and opens your avenues in non-technical industries, an M.Tech qualification offers you plush jobs and a freedom to take your love for technology to the next level.

If you are really interested in what you learned in engineering and you wish to learn more of it then M.Tech is good for you. If you don't want to study it any further and want to be in a different field and work on different profiles, then go for MBA.

As per my opinion, if you want to do job then you can't change your field so you should go for M.Tech.

It depends on you, whether you want to pursue your career in more of a technical work or get into management. For specializing in a technical degree, go for M.Tech and for management, you can go for MBA.
There are many specialisations in which you can do M.Tech after completing your B.Tech in civil engineering like:
    1) Environmental engineering.
    2) Structural Engineering with specialisation in offshore structures.
    3) Pipeline engineering.
    4) Computational fluid dynamics.

If you want to do any technical job or if you want to become a faculty, then M.Tech is a better option. If you want higher salary package or non-technical sound career, then MBA from a good b-school will be best for you.
