If you want to pursue research and academics career then B.Sc (Honors) in physics is very good career option in comparison to run of mill Engineering degree from tier 3 engineering college without any good academic environment and placement records.

Well, I can do both because it's just for my parent's sake I opted for science. I myself would go for civil services examinations after completing my degree. So, right now, what would be a better option?

Hello Armaan, Fundamentally, if you want to devote yourself to research then best course is B Sc in physics. Then you can do PG & doctorate and get into research field. However B Tech, is application of this knowledge. Decision has to be yours.
