Who can apply for the INSPIRE Scholarship?

Yes. Every year the selected students are required to do a summer research project with a scientist or research institute. The students are given extra INR 20,000 to do summer project.

No. This scholarship is given only to those students who are enrolled in basic and natural Science courses like Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, etc. Students who are enrolled in Arts, Commerce, Engineering and other professional courses are not eligible for the scholarship.

Selected candidates can receive the scholarship for up to 5 years or till their Science course is completed, whichever comes first. Students who are selected for the INSPIR scholarship are given INR 80000 per year. 

Selected students get INR 80,000 per year. Out of this, INR 5,000 per month comes as scholarship and INR 20,000 is given for summer research work. Students can check the details related to it on this page.

Students who are in the top 1% in Class 12 board and have entrolled in BSc, BS or Integrated MSc in basic science can apply for the INSPIRE scholarship. Some students with good ranks in JEE Advanced or NEET are also eligible to apply.
