  • The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Examination (CSE) annually. The CSE is also known as the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) exam. The CSE is a common exam that recruits candidates for about 24 top government services, including IAS, IPS, IFS, and IRS.

    The CSE is conducted in two phases: UPSC Prelims and UPSC Mains. The prelims exam consists of objective-type questions, while the Mains exam requires descriptive and essay-type answers. The CSE started in 1922 and is offered once a year.
