Who conducts the NEET UG exam?

<p>The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates, or NEET UG, is given by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Ministry of Education, Government of India, established the autonomous organisation known as NTA to conduct admission examinations at the national level, such as NEET UG, on behalf of regulatory organisations like the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Dental Council of India (DCI). Undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery, and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) programmes are offered by medical and dental institutes in India. NEET UG is the primary admission exam for these programmes. The NTA is in charge of setting up the NEET UG exam, including counselling, results announcement, registration, and administration.</p>

In India, medical and dentistry institutes provide undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery, and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) programs. The main entrance test for these programs is NEET UG. The NTA is in charge of organizing the NEET UG exam, which includes registration, administration, results announcement, and counseling.</p>

<p>NEET UG exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA has been conducting NEET since 2019. Prior to that, the exam was conducted by CBSE. The role of NTA is to conduct the application process, release the admit card, conduct the exam across centres, declaration of answer keys and result. The counselling process is conducted separately by national and state authorities for the All India Quota and State Quota seats. While NTA is the conducting authority, the National Medical Commission (NMC) acts as a consulting authority for NEET for NTA. Factors such as syllabus and eligibility criteria are formulated and revised by NMC and NTA announces those on its official website, on behalf of NMC.&nbsp;</p>
