To be General Surgeon, one has to do both MBBS (5.5 yrs) and MS Gen Surgery (3 yrs) course. So total 8.5 yrs

For a physician, both MBBS and MD Gen Medicine (3 yrs) course.

MBBS drs work as Medical officer, Junior Resident, etc. not as General Surgeon or Physician.

Though both the course are from different streams we can't directly compare it An average time for MBBS is 5/6 years where to complete CA time can't be predicted and as point of view of earning yes comparative a CA earns more than MBBS.
