Bharat Ratna Gopinath Bordoloi and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed established Guwahati University. Established in 1948, the university currently functions with 340+ affiliated colleges along with 35+ PG Departments. The university houses an Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) and a constituent Law College. Guwahati University has been ranked 36 by the NIRF in 2022. The university has also been accredited by NAAC with an A grade. The university offers UG, PG Diploma Certificate and doctoral courses through 39 PG departments and a constituent Law college.
