Who is eligible for M.Tech at IIT Kharagpur?

<p>IIT Kharagpur will accept the following applicants for admission to its M.Tech programme:</p><ul><li>Applicants with a minimum of 60% in their bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, architecture, or medicine, or with an equivalent professional degree and a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.</li><li>Candidates from the SC, ST, or PwD categories must have at least 55% of the possible points, or a 6.0 CGPA.</li><li>The GATE requirement is waived for candidates who have earned a minimum CGPA of 8.0 after completing their B.Tech at any IIT.</li><li>Candidates who have been sponsored and have at least two years of work experience are also eligible to apply.</li><li>Most candidates require a valid GATE score, with the exception of IIT B.Tech graduates with a CGPA of at least 8.0.</li><li>GATE score (70% weightage) is the main criterion for selection, with COAP counselling coming in second.</li></ul>

NET-qualified candidates with a fellowship in MA/MSc Economics/Sociology/Geography, having studied Mathematics/Statistics, are eligible for MCP-PhD. A master's in Science requires a 60% or above aggregate (55% for Arts/Social Science subjects).
