    A number of prestigious institutions, including IISc, IISERs, NISER, and others, jointly administer the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST). JEST is a screening exam for admission to PhD and International PhD courses in Physics, Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience, or Computational Biology at several participating institutes (see the list on the JEST main page).     JEST 2024 exam conducting body for the session 2024-2025 has been changed. The Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) Thiruvananthapuram will be the new exam-conducting body for JEST 2024. IIST functions as an autonomous body under the Department of Space, Government of India. The idea of such an institute was mooted keeping in mind the need for high-quality manpower for the Indian Space Research Organization, one of the world’s leading scientific organizations engaged in space research and space applications.
