The CTET syllabus is prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. They do so while following the guidelines set forth by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It can also be said that the CBSE creates the CTET syllabus based on the broader framework established by the NCTE.

The Central Board of Secondary Education prescribes the CTET syllabus based on the guidelines of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The CTET is an eligibility test conducted to certify the candidates for appointment as Classes 1 to 8 teachers.
