PGDM is a diploma awarded by autonomous institutions , whereas mbais a degree program which is offered by an University or a college affiliated to a UGC recognized university in India. Both are same.

MBA Degree is awarded by a University or an institute affiliated to the University. While, Post Graduate Diploma is awarded by autonomous institutes. Leading autonomous institutes offering Post Graduate Programmes are SCDL, IIM's, ISB and many more...
