Why are IIT fees so high?

As per the official information released by Human Resource Development Ministry, the fees-structure of the previous year will also be applicable for the 2022 admission session. There will be no hike in the course fee at Indian Institute of Technology colleges. Indian Institute of Technology fees per year comes to around 2.5 Lacs. However, There are scholarship programs that provide fee remission for economically backward students at the Indian Institute of Technology. Many Non-governmental organizations also work in this regard which provides free scholarships for students who are from the economically backward section.
