M.A. in Sociology at JNU offers a comprehensive programme with a wide range of courses, including sociological theories, research methodology, and other areas of study. The programme has a strong focus on Indian society, with courses on social stratification, family life and kinship, polity, economy, religion, urban life, population, education, and social change. The Centre also offers optional courses, scholarships, and a number of merit-cum-means scholarships. To qualify for the MA degree, students are required to complete a total of 16 courses, out of which 11 are compulsory, and obtain a CGPA of 4 at the end of the program.
