Special Education teachers work quite differently from normal teachers. Special Education teachers give education to the students with mild or moderate disabilities and this becomes a responsibility for teachers to stand them on their own. They have to take care of each student personally and they try to find the field in which they are interested. They try to communicate with them so that they can know the feelings of these students. These students are not treated as normal students.
Teachers have to develop basis lessons of life, without interacting much with these students. So the teachers have to know how they react to the question

Special education teachers are getting equivalent or sometimes, in some international schools, more than normal teachers because their field is very specific and difficult as they need to handle each child differently. Each child with special needs need an individualised education plan along with other therapeutic transdisciplinary approaches. The special educator attached to these students need to collaborate with all professionals and normal teacher for transacting teaching methodology for him or her. It's a specific professional way of teaching which needs lots of input.
