Why do students choose MBA program?

Suneil, I feel students choose MBA for managerial posts. MBA has a broader scope having to fulfill the responsibilities at the managerial levels. As you go up the career ladder, you see that most of the top posts are managerial not others.
That is the reason, that reputed B-Schools are rigid about their admission criteria. Either it is only going to be based on tests like CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT etc or schools will conduct their own tests or you need to have a good percentage in graduation of direct admission.
